Planning Your Trip

When planning your trip to Manitoba in either October or November, you want to consider the fact that our temperature varies from 15 to 55 degrees Fahrenheit. (-10 to 17 Celsius) Our snow fall on the ground can also vary between 1 to 12 inches. "Dress Accordingly"; layers of clothing are the best so that you can adjust to temperature and activity.

Suggested Clothing and Equipment List:

• Warm, quiet, camo hunting apparel is a requirement (wool or fleece)
• Some type of scent-loc system
• Wind/water repellent jacket with hood
• Insulated vest
• Quiet camo day pack
• Warm insulated hunting boots (rubber if possible)
• Quiet warm gloves or mitts
• Heater body suits work well
• Thermal socks, thermal underwear
• Personal Field Gear:
  • Flash light (batteries) - I recommend you have a quality head lamp (trails to and from our stands are all marked with reflective tape)
  • Camera with batteries ( film)
  • Binoculars
  • Range Finder
  • Thermos
  • Quiet padded seat cushion ( I also provide cushions)
  • Face mask
  • Safety belt
  • Washroom bottle
  • Hand warmers (hot shots, etc.)
• Blaze orange vest and hat (traveling between areas)
• Archery equipment... (well tuned)
• Deer calls
• Rattling antlers available for your use

Taxidermy and Meat Processing:

We can arrange taxidermy here in Manitoba by one of our quality and renowned taxidermists. Meat processing is also readily available in local communities at reasonable costs for those wishing to take home their meat. Hunters are responsible for all processing costs, packaging, handling, and shipping charges for their animals and meat.
